The wildly successful NBC series Suits is adding more to their roster. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has officially ordered series creator Aaron Korsh (Pearson) to create a pilot for a spin-off series based in Los Angeles. With the vast success of the original series, NBC is looking to create more content for fans of the legal drama.
After the series broke several records, stayed high on rating charts, and became one of the most popular shows on streaming services and there was doubt as to if there would be return of the show, the new spinoff was ordered by NBC. The new project will be created under Korsh and will follow a new cast of characters, but still in the same world as the original series. The show, titled Suits: LA will be about Ted Black, who upon departing his legal work in New York, decides to revamp his career and head to practice law in Los Angeles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the official description for the series reads, “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” it continues, “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”
There is yet to be any casting announcement. Fans are eager to see if any of their beloved original characters or cast members will return to the screen. The Hollywood Reporter got the news that original cast member Patrick J. Adams (Plan B) would be eager to return to the series, much to fans’ excitement. He explained: “If I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again,” he said before the Golden Globe Awards. “I love the show, I love the character and I loved working with all these people.”
There is no set timeline as of now for the production or release date for Suits: LA.
