‘Suits’ Breaks Record By Earning Number One Spot On Nielsen Streaming Chart For Twelfth Week In A Row

Created by Aaron Korsh (Pearson, The Story of the Royals), Suits first premiered in June 2011 on USA Network. The nine-season series ran until September 2019. It made resurgence this year when it was added to Netflix on June 17th. According to Deadline, Suits has broken a record by earning the number one spot on the Nielsen Streaming Chart for the twelfth week. The series has garnered over 2.3 billion views.

In order, the streaming titles in the top ten list are Suits, Virgin River, One Piece, The Little Mermaid, S.W.A.T, Bluey, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, Cocomelon, and The Big Bang Theory.

Previously, Netflix’s Ozark had maintained the record for the most amount of times a streaming title has been in the number-one spot. As Deadline notes, streaming titles that have been on the top ten list usually maintain that spot for less than five weeks.

Suits revolves around college drop-out Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams (The Swearing Jar, Plan B), and attorney Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht (S.W.A.T: Firefight, Because I Said So). When he is promoted to senior partner at Pearson Hardman law firm, he hires Mike to be his associate attorney.

Other stars of the show include the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle (Remember Me, Horrible Bosses) as Rachel Zane, Wendell Pierce (The Wire, It Could Happen to You) as Robert Zane, Sarah Rafferty (The Devil Wears Prada, All Things Valentine) as Donna Paulsen, Rick Hoffman (Billions, Battleship) as Louis Litt, Gina Torres (Firefly, The Perfect Find) as Jessica Pearson, and more.

Korsh, Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, American Made), and Dave Bartis (Edge of Tomorrow, The Arrangement) worked as executive producers for the series.

Fans of the series can rejoice in the news that Suits has maintained the spot on the Nielsen Streaming Chart as the most viewed streaming title.
