Mxdwn has reported that Stranger Things will be coming to a close with this upcoming season, and these actors have clearly grown along with their characters. This season is set to be its biggest yet, with series creators the Duffer brothers (Wayward Pines, Hidden) stating, “biggest season we’ve ever had, in terms of action, in terms of visual effects, in terms of story.”
Via mxdwn, this season is set to release in three separate parts, totaling eight episodes. Volume one will release on November 26th, featuring four episodes. Volume two will be released on December 25th, featuring three episodes. Volume three will consist of the finale and will be released on December 31st.
According to mxdwn, the official description of the upcoming season is as follows. “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
According to mxdwn, the Duffer brothers are set to exit Netflix after the conclusion of Stranger Things, as they just signed a four-year deal with Paramount.
