At the opening of USC’s School of Dramatic Arts’ Drama Center in Los Angeles, while speaking with Variety,Reid said, “I would hope the viewers, the audience will be able to finish the show. I think we should handle the show with care. We’ve put our hearts and soul into it.”
Euphoria follows the life of Rue, played by Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Dune: Part Two), a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. Reid plays the role of Gia, who is the sister of Rue. The series premiered in 2019 with the second season airing in 2022. The now-delayed new season is scheduled to only have six episodes for its third installment.

When asked about the delay and if it came as a shock, Reid responded, “Yes and no. We would all hope to be able to go back tomorrow, but there are logistics that have to be figured out. So even though I’m a little disappointed, I’m not surprised. I do know if we do go back that I am sure we will continue to be authentic and represent the real world.”
All current seasons of Euphoria are available to stream on Max.
