For fans of the series Outlander, Starz has dropped the official trailer for the final season on Youtube. After twelve years of following the Frasers it is time see their journey come to an end.
For those who haven’t seen the show, the series tells a story involving a combat nurse who is mysteriously transported from the year 1945 to 1743 Scotland. The series is based on the novels that are under the same name and written by Diana Gabaldon (Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager). The trailer shows familiar faces that fans of the series will easily recognize. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there was a logline for the final season of the series, “A devastating prophecy, in the form of Frank Randall’s book predicting Jamie’s death, shakes the family to the core. Knowing they’ve been unable to alter history in the past, the Frasers grapple with the question of whether Jamie’s fate is sealed. As season eight begins, Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.”
The cast consists of Caitríona Balfe (The Amateur, The Cut), Sam Heughan (The Couple Next Door, Love Again), Sophie Skelton (Row, Castlevania: Nocturne), Richard Rankin (The Forsytes, Dead By Lightning), John Bell (Miss Temperance, Into the Badlands), Duncan Lacroix (Grantchester, Year 10), Tobias Menzies (A Ghost Story for Christmas, F1: The Movie), Graham McTavish (Spartacus: House of Ashur, The Mighty Nein), Grant O’Rourke (The Incomer, Grow), David Berry (Hapless, Riptide), Stephen Walters (Good Behaviour, This City is Ours), Ed Speleers (Black Ops, The Lady), Roman Berrux (It’s Gonna Be Okay, Huguette), and Charles Vandervaart (Middlebridge Mysteries, Holly Hobbie).
