According to Deadline, The Cleaning Lady revealed the answer to what happened to the character Arman Morales following the death of his actor, Adan Canto (Designated Survivor). Canto died of appendiceal cancer earlier this year. The series showed the future of his character in the sixth episode of season three.
Despite the fact that the series started filming for the third season in December of 2023, Canto was not able to film any scenes due to the battle he faced with cancer. During the opening of season three, his character remained absent following a shootout. According to the series, his character had been captured. During this time, characters Thony and Nadia had been attempting to locate him, said Deadline.
Deadline continued, stating that, in the show, Nadia and Dante went to meet Arman’s captors in the desert where they would drop him off. It was then that Thony learned that Dante not only knew about Arman’s whereabouts but was also involved in him being kidnapped. From there, Thony and Fiona went to find Arman, where one of Arman’s captors attempted to shoot at Thony. In the end, the truck containing Arman went over a cliff, leading to the end of his life.
Deadline also said that The Cleaning Lady paid tribute to Canto in the episode, with a title card that said “In Loving Memory — Adan Canto”
IMDb said that The Cleaning Lady is about “A Cambodian-Filipino doctor comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her son but when the system fails she uses her cunning and intelligence to save her son.”
