Benito Skinner (Overcompensating, Queer as Folk) is teasing what fans can expect from the second season of Prime Video’s Overcompensating. According to Deadline, the series creator and star recently revealed that the upcoming season will feature more nudity, expanded character storylines, and a highly anticipated romantic encounter.

Speaking with co-star Owen Thiele (Overcompensating, Dollface) on his In Your Dreams podcast, Skinner discussed filming the new episodes and some of the show’s more revealing moments. “I was half-naked,” Skinner joked, adding, “I wear like 12 jock straps this season.”

However, the biggest revelation involved Benny’s relationship with Miles, played by Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel, Do Revenge). Skinner confirmed that the two characters will finally become romantically involved after fans repeatedly questioned whether their relationship would develop further.

“Benny does hook up with Miles in Season two,” Skinner revealed, explaining that viewers have been asking about the pairing regularly. The announcement confirms that their relationship will take another step forward in the upcoming season.

Deadline notes that Skinner also teased a larger role for George, played by Thiele, though he didn’t reveal more about the character’s storyline. “Obviously George is a much bigger character in Season two,” he said.

Inspired by Skinner’s personal experience coming out as a college athlete, Overcompensating follows Benny as he navigates college life, friendships, and his sexuality. Prime Video renewed the semi-autobiographical comedy for a second season last September.

The upcoming season will also feature Holmes as a series regular, reprising the role of party girl Hailee. New guest stars include Aisha Dee (The Bold Type, Sissy) and AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries, Bridge to Terabithia).

Several familiar faces are also returning, including Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, The White Lotus), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Fallout) and Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, Euphoria). Andrea Martin (Only Murders in the Building, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) is also among the returning cast members.

While Skinner has revealed several details about the upcoming episodes, Prime Video has not announced an official premiere date for season two.
