WIth the final season of Prime Video’s The Boys already on its way, fans are left wonder what fate awaits the series main antagonist, Homelander, played by Anthony Starr (Cobweb, Banshee). Reported by Comicbook, the series takes a slight different direction compared to what transpire within the comic of the same name, which displays a shocking conclusion that the audience will not believe. There are several choices, which include Butcher, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Mortal Kombat II); Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Tracker); or Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair (Slenderman, Paper Towns), to be the top contender.
Stated by Comicbook, back in the comic it was revealed that the one that have defeated Homelander is none other then the silent Black Noir, played by Nathan Mitchell (iZombie, Rogue). Later on a shocking secret was revealed that he was a clone of the the superhero and used as a fail safe in the extreme case of him going rogue.Unfortunately, this didn’t happen since Homelander killed the original Noir back in the third season, but he was quickly and quietly replaced by Vought to avoid spreading further chaos.
Of course, the production team while trying to stay true to the source material will tweak Homelander’s death to be done by Butcher’s hand, and finish the beef the duo have with each other. According to Comicbook, several theories have been postulated as to why they modified the original plot while maintaining the same outcome, with one scene showing Homelander sat in the oval office, where Noir initially killed him in the comic.
Trapped between his vengeful enemies and the V-1 virus, Homelander’s end isn’t coming in a blaze of glory, but in the quiet, isolated shadow of a total breakdown. All current episodes for The Boys final season are available to stream on , with new weekly releasing every Wednesday.
