*Spoiler* A Polarity Shift: ‘Gen V’s Sean Patrick Thomas Talks His Character’s Fate And Honoring Chance Perdomo Onscreen

The second season finale of Gen V delivered an emotional and decisive chapter with the series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, viewers get a touching tribute by none other than Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop, Cruel Intentions), who plays the father of Andre, played by the late Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Bad Man). In the begiining of the second season, viewers see Polarity grieving over the the loss of his son in ager, while dealing with the decreasing of his powers.

Sean goes on to speak in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about, “The only thing I thought was, ‘I have to do everything I can to make sure we do justice to this young man and make sure he’s honored and respected and elevated in the way he should be.” In the conversation, Thomas details how he accomplished that across all eight episodes, as well as Polarity’s reckoning, redemption and revolution alongside Andre’s friends.

One of the questions that The Hollywood Reporter asked the actor was about the fate of Polarity fans can expect in the finale. Sean responded, “I absolutely think he can survive it. He has to. In the world of The Boys, with everything that Homelander [Antony Starr] is doing, it’s all unsustainable.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter,Sean’s performance, praised by fans and critics alike, turned tragedy into one of the season’s most powerful and memorable threads. Viewers get to witness his emotional journey and a powerful transformation from being a grieving father to a righteous protector.

Stated by The Hollywood Reporter, the finale goes on to convey  development in which Polarity becomes guardians towards include Marie, played by Jaz Sinclair (Paper Towns, Slender Man), Sam, played by Asa Germann (The Boys, Scream 7) and the rest of the main characters, as well taking care of the rest of the young supes with Goldkin’s. Polarity’s future remains open-ended, though many fans hope his powerful arc continues into the final season of The Boys.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,the finale also ties in to its predecessor series, where the group has sudden encounter with Annie, played by Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones, Kong: Skull Island), who ask them to join the resistance against Homelander, played by Antony Starr (Banshee, Cobweb). Both seasons of Gen V are available to stream on Prime Video
