According to ComicBook throughout the series, it has sold a vast amount of books and comic magazines. The series published over 150 books in 40 different languages and has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide.

The Novel series The Destroyer was first published in 1971 by Murphy and Sapir and followed Remo Williams, a United States government operative on different adventures. Williams is originally a former police officer who was framed for a crime and afterward sentenced to death. His death was faked as he was then taken by the government to be trained as part of an organization named CURE. This adaptation is not the first of the series but the first to be created for a televised network. In 1985 there was a film adaption that did not lead to a bigger franchise for the novel series called Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins starring Fred Ward (Tremors, Escape From Alcatraz).

Many fans of the book series can’t wait to see what Smith and Askarieh can develop with the series.
