Sofia Vassilieva & Dan Tracy Added to J. J. Abrams’ ‘Duster’

According to Deadline, Latoya Morgan (Dark Blood, Robyn Hood and the Hunt) and J.J. Abrams’ (Super 8, Fringe) Max original series Duster has cast Dan Tracy (The Watcher, Mrs. America) and Sofia Vassilieva (Looking for Alaska, Medium) as regulars. The series is a period drama and stars Rachel Hilson (This is Us, Love Victor) and Josh Holloway (Colony, Lost).

Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law, Psych) and Gail O’Grady (NYPD Blue, American Dreams) will be recurring guests. It will also star Benjamin Charles Watson (Designated Survivor, I am Syd Stone), Keith David (Greenleaf, Rick and Morty), Adriana Aluna Martinez (Duster), Asivak Koostachin (Cardinal, Aski Boyz), Greg Grunberg (Felicity, Heroes), Camille Guaty (Prison Break, Scorpion), and Sydney Elisabeth (Here is a Man, The Last O.G.).

Tracy will play Agent Chad Grant and Vassilieva will play Jessica. Details of their characters are unknown.

Duster follows the first Black female FBI agent, played by Hilson, as she goes Southwest to recruit a gusty getaway driver, played by Holloway, in a risky effort to take down a growing crime syndicate. It is co-written by Morgan and Abrams.

It is produced by Warner Bros. Television and the first two episodes will be directed by Steph Green (Watchmen, The Book of Boba Fett). Green will executive produce along with Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich (Demimonde, Presumed Innocent) for Bad Robot and Morgan will executive produce for TinkerToy Productions.

Tracy is best known for guest-starring roles in Watchmen and Mrs. American. He will appear in the upcoming FX limited series Class of ’09, which follows a class of FBI agents in a near future where artificial intelligence has transformed the U.S. criminal justice system. He is represented by BRS/Gage Talent Agency.

Vassilieva was most recently seen in John Lee Hancock’s feature The Little Things with Rami Malek (Mr. Robot, Bohemian Rhapsody), Jared Leto (House of Gucci, Morbius), and Denzel Washington (Fences, The Equalizer). She is best known for her roles in My Sister’s Keeper and Looking For Alaska. She is represented by Lighthouse Management + Media and Greene Talent.
