

NBC’s widely known show, Saturday Night Live, kicks off its 50th year of performances, sketches and laughs. The beloved show has quite the line up planned, ready to make season 50 memorable. SNL debuted on NBC on October 30th, 1975 and quickly became the show to be on. Many well-known comedians such as, Jimmy Fallon (The Tonight Show) and Tina Fey (Mean Girls) have paved their path to fame on SNL. The show grew its liking not only because of their regular actors but every episode has a new host and musical guest. With fifty years in the making, hosting SNL is known as a “I made it” moment and right of passage. To get more history on SNL, NBC has picked fifty of the best sketches to commemorate and honor. Some of those include older sketches such as Adam Sandler’s 1994 “Hanukkah Song”, and more recently Pete Davidson (The King Of Staten Island) with Timothee Chalamet (Dune) “Rap Roundtable”.
Celebrations continue on Peacock with a four-part docuseries SNL 50: Beyond Saturday Night. Covering decades of sketches and hosts. The series will also feature special guests of current and past cast members such as Fred Armisen, (The Super Mario Bros. Movie) Ego Nwodim, (Scrambled), and Bowen Yang (Wicked).
Festivities won’t end there. SNL will kick off their three-hour event with a live red carpet event at 7 ET/ 4 PT on February 16, 2025. With appearances of the cast members and those who performed on the show. Following up with a three-hour SNL episode live at 8 ET/ 5 PT. Fans share excitement of Fallons return as a host. Fallon was on the show from 1998 to 2004. With many celebrations and special guests, SNL is kicking off their 50th season ready to make history.
