According to Deadline, Showtime’s highly anticipated series Dexter: Original Sin has announced the addition of nine recurring characters to its first season cast. Some of the new members include Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, Bad Boys, The Matrix), Brittany Allen (The Boys, What Keeps You Alive, It Stains The Sands Red), Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline, David Makes Man), Aaron Jennings (Pure Genius, Grand Crew, NCIS), Raquel Justice (One Day at Time, Andi Mack, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn), Jasper Lewis (V/H/S, The Impersonators, As Its Remembered), Carlo Mendez (The Bay, Demise, Mayday), Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (That’s Amor, The Mother, The Devil In The Room) and Roberto Sanchez (Palm Royale, Six Hours Away, Venom). Dexter: Original Sin delves into Dexter’s formative years as a student who is beginning to hone his skills as a killer. With the guidance of his adoptive father, Harry, played by Christian Slater (Mr.Robot, True Romance, Interview With The Vampire), Dexter learns to channel his violent tendencies. Harry, who serves as Dexter’s sole confidant, imparts a moral code designed to direct Dexter’s murderous urges towards those deemed deserving of death. According to Deadline, this intricate father-son dynamic is central to the series, especially as Dexter takes on a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department, adding a layer of complexity to his clandestine activities.

Pantoliano, known for his Emmy-winning role as Ralph Cifaretto in The Sopranos, joins the cast as Mad Dog. Allen will portray Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, while Gonzalez takes on the role of Santos Jimenez. Jennings will play Clark Sanders, and Justice will appear as Sofia. Lewis is cast as Dexter’s adoptive mother and Harry’s wife, Doris Morgan.

As reported by Deadline, production for Dexter: Original Sin is currently underway in Miami, with Clyde Phillips (Get Real, Feed The Beast, Suddenly Susan) leading the project. Other executive producers include Scott Reynolds (Dexter, Jessica Bones, Dexter: New Blood), Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under, The Crown, Star Vs The Forces Of Evil), Mary Leah Sutton (Tell Me A Story, Resident Evil, The Following) and Lilly Burns (Emily In Paris, Search Party, Broad City).

Dexter: Original Sin promises to deliver a gripping narrative, exploring the dark and complex journey of young Dexter Morgan as he navigates the duality of his life as a budding forensic expert and a nascent serial killer. The series is set to be a compelling addition to the Dexter franchise, offering fans a deeper look into the origins of one of television’s most iconic characters.
