The upcoming original comedy Moonbase 8 is set to premiere on the premium network channel Showtime on Sunday, November 8 at 11 PM EST, according to a Showtime Press Release. Acquired by Showtime in late August, the series is created by Jonathan Krisel (Baskets, Portlandia) and Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Ant-Man) and is produced by Abso Lutely Productions and A24.
The series is also executive produced by the likes of Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Saturday Night Live), John C. Reilly (Gangs of New York, Step Brothers), Eric Wareheim (Tom Goes to the Mayor), Dave Kneebone (Comedy Bang! Bang!, Nathan for You), Inman Young (Ramy, Uncut Gems), Ravi Nandan (Euphoria, Ramy), Krisel, and Heidecker.
Moonbase 8 is set to center on a trio of mediocre NASA astronauts that are currently being held at a simulator while attempting to be selected for the next lunar mission. In addition to creating and executive producing the upcoming comedy series, Heidecker, Reilly, and Armisen are set to star as these three feature astronauts as Rook, Cap, and Skip respectively. The upcoming comedy program joins Showtime’s growing list of original comedies such as Back to Life, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, Work in Progress, and Black Monday.
Currently, there is no available trailer for Moonbase 8 before its November premiere.
