According to ScreenRant, Tony Tost (Americana), the showrunner of Peacock’s Poker Face, talks about a potential third season and the future of the series following the twist in the third episode of the second season. *Spoiler ahead* The second season of the series sees Charlie continue to run from the mob chasing her but eventually the past catches up with her. In the third episode of the season, Beatrix Hasp returns, bringing the human lie detector Charlie into a hostile situation as she tries to solve the mystery of Beatrix’s husband’s death.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Tost goes into detail about Charlie’s future after not having to run anymore. He teases that in the second season, it will go further into Charlie’s life as she now has to try to live a more normal life and this will affect the potential third season.
Tost said, “I can’t speak for Rian, I can only speak on this season, though I have thoughts about where it could go, but she’s going to give it a try. She’s going to actually try to have a ‘normal life,’ and we’ll have to see how that plays out. But she’ll get a sense that, maybe, life on the road has as many drawbacks as benefits. I think it’ll be interesting towards the end of the season to see what that looks like, if Charlie does try to kind of settle in.”
Poker Face follows a casino worker, Charlie, who has the extraordinary ability to detect when an individual is lying. She finds herself running across the United States from her casino boss, following the death of her friend and co-worker using her human lying detection skills to solve crimes along the way.
