Shauna Duggins became the first woman to win “stunt coordination” for a comedy category for the first round of The Creative Arts Emmys Awards, which broadcasted September 8th at 5:00 P.M. pacific standard time on FXX. This was her second nomination (her first nomination being for Alias in 2006) and her first win. She won her award for “outstanding stunt coordination” for her work on GLOW, a Netflix series based the personal and professional lives of a group of women who performed for a wrestling organization in Los Angeles during the 1980s.
Duggin’s has been involved with stunt work for quite a long time and her resume is extensive. She’s done work on shows such as Charlies Angels, Charmed, The X-Files, Daredevil, Castle, Supergirl, and many others. She has done reoccurring stuntwork for Charlize Theron and Jennifer Garner.
Another exciting win was for Tiffany Haddish, who won “Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series” for her appearance on Saturday Night Live. Haddish is an up-and-coming comedian who recently starred in Girls Trip (which premiered in theaters last summer) with Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith. She has two films coming to theaters within the next couple of months. Night School (September 27) and Nobody’s Fool (November 2).
