Shadows Of The Underworld: ‘Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord’ Breaks The Internet With A New Gritty Trailer

The galaxy’s foremost ruthless survivor, Darth Maul, voiced by Sam Witwer (The Mist, Dexter) is back, but this time he won’t be playing by the Jedi’s or Sith’s playbook. Reported by Comicbook, an exciting trailer of the next chapter of the characters follows his journey after the chaotic events of The Clone Wars and Order 66, and now operates in the shadow of Janis. The trailer opens up with empire force searching for the wanted fugitive onboard a destroyed ship, in which Maul defeats them with little effort.

Stated by Comicbook, George Lucas (Rogue One, The Last Jedi) have realize his own mistake on killing of the character in The Phantom Menace, but then brining back the potential of his revival in the animated series in which he became a driving force for both side in the on going war.

According to Comicbook, Maul’s action have caught the attention of Jedi padawn, Devon Izara, voiced by Gideon Adlon (Blockers, Sick) and form a usual alliance with each other. Izara is still unsure whether she sees Maul as a potential partner or adversary in her quest to overthrow the empire. Though it is believed that if she continues fighting along side him she will fall to the dark side and become his apprentice.

What will make this series unique is the perspective on a villain rather that of a hero, with the addition of the refusal of adding a redemption arc. Stated by Comicbook, Maul’s future actions and trip will undoubtedly help bridge the gap between his appearances in Star Wars: Rebel.The new animated series will also showcases other inquisitor members, who will be the main battle that Maul will have to overcome in his mission for revenge.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord kicks off with a two-episode premiere on April 6, 2026, on Disney+, with the finale appropriately landing on May the 4th
