Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s ‘Future Man’ Picked Up To Series At Hulu

Hulu has liked what its seen of Future Man.

As Deadline reports, the streaming service has given a 13-episode order to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Future Man half-hour comedy pilot. The series is written by fellow Sausage Party scribes Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir from a story by the both of them and Howard Overman. Rogen and Goldberg directed the pilot.

Future Man tells the story of average joe janitor and avid gamer Josh Futterman, as his life is turned upside down when he gets recruited by a mysterious group to travel throughout time with the mission to save humanity from extinction. The series stars Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Derek Wilson (Preacher), Ed Begley Jr. (Lady DynamiteBetter Call Saul), and Glenne Headly (The Night OfDon Jon).

Future Man joins AMC’s Preacher as the second pilot picked up to series for the team of Rogen, Goldberg, and Sony Pictures Television. The comedy series joins Hulu’s steadily growing slate of new shows. The streaming service has given straight-to-series orders to Hugh Laurie’s neuropsychiatry thriller Chance, the Elisabeth Moss-starring adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and magician/psychic drama Shut Eye. Hulu also has pilots CrushedCitizenWhen the Street Lights Go On, and Dawn all still up in the air.

Rogen and Goldberg serve as executive producers on Future Man along with Shaffir, Hunter, Matt Tolmach, and James Weaver. The series is set for a 2017 premiere.
