According to the Press Release by Max, the second season of the original drama series THE PITT  has begun production. The series from John Wells (The West Wing, The Company Men) Productions and Warner Bros. Television is created by R. Scott Gemmill (JAG, The Unit), and stars Noah Wyle (ER, Donnie Darko), It has recently started production. Production on the series will be shooting on the historic Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, CA, with exteriors shot on location in Pittsburgh, PA. Season two will debut in January 2026.

Via the Press Release by Max, THE PITT stayed as one of the top three most-streamed titles globally while earning positive reviews from critics, including a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

As per the Press Release by Max, the official log line for the series reads as follows: “THE PITT is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”

The cast of the series includes Wyle as Dr. Micheal Robinavitch, Tracy Ifeachor (Wonka, The Originals) as Dr. Heather Collins, Patrick Ball (Law & Order) as Dr. Frank Langdon, Katherine LaNasa (The Campaing, Daredevil: Born Again) as Dana Evans, Supriya Ganesh (Grown-ish, Spoiler Alert) as Dr. Samira Monah, Fiona Dourif (Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, The Blacklist) as Dr. Cassie McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa King (Breaking Bad, For All Mankind), Isa Briones (Goosebumps, American Crime Story) as Dr. Trinity Santos and many others.

According to Variety, the first season of THE PITT consisted of 15 episodes, each being an hour long. The epsiodes were meant to display the 15- hour work shifts at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Gemmill created the series and serves as an executive producer. Wyle is also an executive producer along with Wells and Erin Jontow (Animal Kingdom) of John Wells Productions, Michael Hissrich (The West Wing) and Simran Baidwan (The Good Doctor). Warner Bros. Television, where John Wells Productions is under an overall deal, is the studio.
