Season Two Of HBO’s Emmy-Winning ‘The White Lotus’ Announces Oct. 30 Premiere Date

The Emmy-winning anthology series, The White Lotus, will return for its second installment on Sunday, October 30, via an HBO press release. The series created by Mike White (Enlightened, Nacho Libre) is a satirical drama that explores the pervasive tendencies of class, race, and privilege at an exclusive resort.

The series’ second season is set at another White Lotus resort, the Blossom Circle, in the hills of Sicily. The series just recently wrapped production on location similar to the first season, which was set at a resort in Hawaii. The new season will follow the social woes of the facility’s employees and guests as a whole new slate of characters are introduced over the course of one week.

The second season will star F. Murray Abraham (Moon Knight, Mythic Quest), Adam DiMarco (The Magicians, Zapped), Aubrey Plaza (Legion, Emily the Criminal), Theo James (The Time Traveler’s Wife, Divergent), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos, This Fool), Haley Lu Richardson (Five Feet Apart, Split), Leo Woodall (Holby City, Citadel), Beatrice Grannò (Zero, The Time of Indifference), Simona Tabasco (I Babysitter, Luna Park), Tom Hollander (The Ipcress File, Rev.), Jon Gries (Napolean Dynamite, Taken 2), Sabrina Impacciatore (There’s No Place Like Home, Kiss Me Again), and Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type, Those People). The lone returning actor from the first season will be Jennifer Coolidge, who recently won the Emmy for Outstanding  Supporting Actress in a Limited, Anthology Series, or TV Movie.

According to the press release, Abraham and Imperioli will play father and son, Bert and Dominic Di Grasso. They will be visiting Sicily along with Dominic’s son, Albie, played by DiMarco. Another guest touring the resort will be that of season one’s Tanya McQuoid, played by Coolidge. She now goes by the added name Hunt and is accompanied by her husband Greg (Gries), and her assistant, Lu Richardson’s Portia.

James and Fahy are a married couple named Cameron and Daphne Babcock who are visiting the resort with friends and fellow couple, Ethan and Harper Spiller. The Spillers are played by Sharpe and Plaza, respectively. Tabasco is Lucia, a local who finds occasional work at the resort. She is joined by another local, Mia, played by Grannò.

The main cast is rounded out with Hollander’s Quentin who is visiting the resort along with friends and his nephew, Woodall’s Jack. And Impacciatore is Valentina, the manager of the resort who seeks nothing but perfection from her staff.

The White Lotus was a heavyweight champion at this year’s Emmys scoring 20 nominations and winning 10, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. It also coveted writing and directing Emmys for White and an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited, Anthology Series, or TV Movie Emmy for Murray Bartlett (August, Physical). The second season will see White return as an executive producer along with Mark Kamine (21 Bridges, Sweet Girl) and David Bernad (The Mule, Uncharted).

Season two of The White Lotus will premiere on Sunday, October 30 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.
