Deadline reports that ahead of the show’s season two premiere, The Hunting Wives has already been announced to be renewed for season three. With announcement of the season three renewal, fans of the show will be delighted to know that the show will return within a year for season three with no further delay due to production or post-production.
The Hunting Wives is a psychological thriller mystery series that has spent weeks as the #1 show on Netflix, along with over two billion views upon release of the series.
The Netflix drama stars actress Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect, Hairspray) as Sophie O’Neil, and actress Malin Åkerman (Watchmen, The Heartbreak Kid), who plays as Margo Banks. The Hunting Wives follows Sophie, a newcomer who ends up moving to a small town based in Texas. With Sophie’s big move to Texas, she ends up meeting Margo along the way and ultimately befriends her. Sophie also joins Margo’s socialite group, known as the Hunting Wives. This friendship leads to Margo’s world of wealth, secrets, and even murder.
Lionsgate Television is the studio who will be producing season three. Rebecca Cutter (Hightown, Gotham) is the official showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the series. Erwin Stoff (The Matrix, Edge of Tomorrow) and May Cobb (My Summer Darlings, A Likeable Woman) from 3 Arts Entertainment are also credited to be executive producers of the show as well. Cobb is the original author of the novel of the same name that The Hunting Wives TV series is based on. Cobb has sold over 2.3 million copies of the popular novel worldwide.
Season two of The Hunting Wives will have it’s global premiere on Thanksgiving, November 26 on Netflix. All eight episodes of the new season will be released upon the launch of the new upcoming season.
