Fans and cast of the series White Lotus are awaiting the announcement of the season four resort location. Season three premieres Feb. 16 and is set in Thailand, stars include season one throwback Natasha Rothwell (Insecure,How to Die Alone), Jason Isaacs (The Patriot, Harry Potter series), Parker Posey (Party Girl, Lost in Show), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Midnight Sun, The Staircase), Carrie Coon (His Three Daughters, The Golden Age) and quite a few other big names in the industry.
According to CNN, Coon said that the show’s creator Mike White (School of Rock, Enlightened) “was openly talking about some ideas he had” for the next season’s location while shooting season three in Thailand.
“I would love to be somewhere cold,” said Coon. “It’s hard to act when your brain is boiling…I would go to a ski resort because I would survive there.”
Not all of the cast is in favor of a cold location. Walton Goggins (Justified, The Righteous Gemstones) playing Rick Hatchett had a completely different take. “Give me Morocco!” he told CNN. “Give me somewhere warm and dry.”
Rockwell noted that her character Belinda Lindsey, a black travel journalist, might have an impact on the destination of the next season.
“Belinda’s presence in the series is so important. It requires audiences to reconcile the fact that in a lot of these spaces, it is homogenous, and you don’t get to see a lot of people of color,” she said to CNN. “And she’s able to infiltrate these spaces, and learn about them, and now she’s in one, not as an employee. So it’s really cool to see that this season.”
“Doing a season on the (African) continent – Morocco, Egypt, South Africa,” she continued, “I feel like it would be a really amazing, rich opportunity to have these conversations.”
Season three of White Lotus will be available to stream on HBO Max beginning Sunday, Feb. 16.
