You’re The Worst may just be the best for FXX.
As Deadline reports, the season 3 premiere of the honestly modern Stephen Falk-created rom-com was the most watched telecast in FXX’s history.
The ratings, as reported by the FXX and Nielsen, show the August 31st premiere garnered an 8% bump over the Live+3 ratings for the season 2 premiere. You’re The Worst‘s premiere also boasted a larger female audience in all key demographics (18-34, 18-49, 25-54) than FXX and the series have ever had before. There was also a slight boost in the male demo with a 1% increase over the season 2 premiere.
You’re The Worst centers on the blossoming and bizarre modern romance that occurs between Gretchen (Aya Cash) and Jimmy (Chris Geere). Together Gretchen and Jimmy navigate the confusing and frightening minefield of love, finding their own unique approach to the idea of romance. Geere and Cash are both top-notch in the series, with Cash and the show receiving heaps of praise for the accurately sensitive portrayal of clinical depression throughout season 2.
The series also stars Desmin Borges, Kether Donohue, Allan McLeod, Janet Varney, Brandon Mychal Smith, and Todd Robert Anderson. The series has also had episodes directed by The Kings of Summer and upcoming Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Creator Stephen Falk executive produces the series and serves as a writer along with Eva Anderson, Alison Bennet, Franklin Hardy, Shane Kosakowski, and Philippe Iujvidin. FX Productions produces the series.
