Season 2’s Production of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Officially Sets Sail in Mexico

“Fear the Walking Dead,” inspired by “The Walking Dead” is a prequel to everything that happened prior to the massive destruction that came along with all the flesh eating “walkers” in “The Walking Dead.” As we saw in season 1 of “Fear the Walking Dead,” many of the characters have no idea what is going on nor do they understand the concept of zombies since they live in a world where rabid zombies don’t exist in stories, TV, or in films.

The series stars Cliff Curtis (Travis), Kim Dickens (Madison), Frank Dillane (Nick), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Mercedes Mason (Ofelia), Lorenzo James Henrie (Chris), and Ruben Blades (Daniel).

AMC announced that the production for “Fear the Walking Dead” season two is set to start. The filming for the series will be taking place in Baja Studios in Mexico. Moreover, season two of “Fear the Walking Dead” will feature 15 episodes which will officially premiere in 2016 during spring.
Dave Erickson, the executive producer of the show said “We are thrilled to be starting production and even more thrilled to be shooting in Mexico. Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the ‘Fear’ saga. We couldn’t be happier.”

During a recent interview with MTV, Cliff Curtis was asked if he knew any details regarding season two of the show and he said “They (the show’s creators) haven’t given me a heads up at all about what direction Travis is going to go. They’re really stingy that way.”

As far as the ending for season one’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” we were left with several cliffhangers where character Madison is comforting Travis who is extremely distraught after killing his ex-wife Liza at her own request due to her being bitten and thus infected. The characters were also in preparation to depart on the yacht of the mysterious and seemingly untrustworthy character Strand.
