Season 10 of ‘American Horror Story’ Pushed Back to 2021

The annual fall season launch of American Horror Story will have to wait. Due to the global pandemic COVID-19 and factors surrounding production, season 10 of the FX show will be delayed to 2021 according to The Hollywood Reporter. The creator of the horror series, Ryan Murphy (GleeEat Pray Love), has other projects for FX that are delayed or uncertain such as American Crime Stories which may or may not have its next installment ready for 2020.

Season 10 has been in limbo due to factors of filming, and therefore pushing everything back for 2021. Murphy posted a teaser for the weather-based season on instagram back in February, before the stay-at-home orders and company shut-downs.

American Horror Story, beginning in 2011, is an anthology series carrying a theme that horrors and thrills of the season are based around with a fairly stagnant cast. Each season stars an assortment of recurring stars such as Evan Peters (X-Men: Apocalypse), Sarah Paulson (12 Years A Slave), Denis O’Hare (Dallas Buyers Club), Kathy Bates (Titanic), Jessica Lange (The Politician), and others only appearing in certain seasons. American Horror Story has won Emmys including Lange as Fiona Goode for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for Coven, or season 3.

FX also ordered American Horror Stories based off of Murphy’s series with stories contained in one hour, which was teased on Instagram in early May.

American Horror Story season 10 will premiere in 2021, with no set date attached.
