Actor and producer Patrick Muldoon (Double Scoop, The Corner) has unfortunately passed away on April 19, 2026. Muldoon passed away from a heart attack at his home in Beverly Hills, California at age 57.
Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California on September 27, 1968. He started his acting career while he was still in college. He was a part of a two episode arc on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? After graduating in 1991 he landed a three-episode recurring role on Saved By the Bell where he played Jeffery Hunter. According to Deadline, played the role of Austin Reed on the show Days of Our Lives, where he played the role from 1992 to 1995 and again from 2011 to 2012. Muldoon was also the villainous Richard Hart on Melrose Place from season three to season five. He would star in a slew of TV movies in the late 1900s and 2000s.
Muldoon was seen on the silver screen in the movie Starship Troopers where he played Zander Barcalow in 1997. He would also star in his latest crime thriller Dirty Hands which is slated to be released later this year. According to Deadline, Muldoon also produced a variety of features including, The Tribes of Polos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Card Counter, The Dreadful, Riff Raff, and most recently Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Doomsday, Crime 101), Taron Egerton (Smoke, She Rides Shotgun), and Zazie Beetz (They Will Kill You, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die) which is currently in production. For people who were close to him, Muldoon was described “endlessly generous with his poetry, his humor, and his unmistakable presence,” he “loved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs, and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen,” his friends said.
Muldoon may be gone, but his contributions will not be forgotten. Muldoon is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents, Denna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., his sister and brother-in-law, Shana and Ahmet Zappa, and their children, as well as Muldoon’s beloved niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa.
