Saturday Night Live will return tonight with a full-length original episode on NBC at 11:30 PM ET. Despite the initial report that the new episode will include Weekend Update and some other content, tonight’s episode will be released in its 90-minute format and contain original material, according to Deadline.
Thursday:
On Thursday, NBC announced that Saturday Night Live will return on April 11 with an episode produced away from original Studio 8H in Rockfeller Center. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC foretold a Weekend Update segment along with new original content but it is unclear if the show will adopt a new schedule. Sketches and musical performances won’t take place and for now, the upcoming episode is a one-off.
Deep into its 45th season, the show broadcasted its latest episode on March 8 with host Daniel Craig and the Weeknd before production was postponed due to Coronavirus. March 28 episode set to feature John Krasinki and Due Lupa was cancelled and it is not known if these guests will reappear in future episodes.

Hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost, Weekend Update‘s return marks the latest NBC’s late-night talk show to resume production from home after The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
