Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) is set to have cameo on the upcoming And Just Like That Season, however her appearance has been leaked recently. According to ENews, the cast of And Just Like That have expressed how disappointed they are in this leak.
It was on June 1st that Kim Cattrall announced she will make an appearance reprising her role of Samantha Jones in And Just Like That‘s second season. This news came after Variety reported her filming an unknown project without the presence of the cast or Michael Patrick King (2 Broke Girls), the showrunner, which started the rumors of her return as her iconic character in the new spinoff. Her appearance comes after years of presumed tension between Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker (Hocus Pocus) who is the lead role Carrie Bradshaw.
On Sirius XM’s Radio Andy, Sarah Jessica Parker told Andy Cohen on June 29th, “Couldn’t have been more upset. It’s a big bummer because it would have been so like, fireworks in the middle. Also, because we want to make sure that expectations are real.” The actress did give insight to the highly anticipated cameo by Cattrall, also stating that “It’s a little exchange that is happy and it says everything about their relationship.” Cattrall’s appearance as Samantha Jones comes after a text between her character and Sarah Jessica’s character in the season one finale of And Just Like That.
Cynthia Nixon (The Gilded Age) who is reprising her role as Miranda Hobbs and Kristin Davis (Holiday in the Wild) also returning to her role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt have also given their opinion regarding the news leak of Kim Cattrall’s appearance. Nixon stated, “We tried so hard to keep it quiet. We’re really sorry it got out” along with Davis’ statement “We didn’t really want the information out. We wanted it to be a surprise.”
