Samuel L. Jackson To Star In Apple TV+ Limited Series, ‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray’

Based on Walter Mosley’s book entitled ‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray,’ Apple TV+ has announced the development of its new limited series under the same name, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe six-series will star the Oscar nominee and A-list celebrity Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction).

The novel surrounds a 91-year-old man, played by Jackson, who suffers from dementia and as a result, is left behind by his family and friends. However, when he is able to briefly regain his memories he begins to unfold the truth about his nephew’s death and finally accept experiences from his past. Alongside writing over 60 novels, Mosley has written for FX’s Snowfall and CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery, however, he left the latter show in 2019 after “receiving an HR complaint about using the N-word in the writers room,” as The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Jackson has joined the list of top tier celebrities such as Chris Evans (Defending Jacob), Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show), and Octavia Spencer (Truth Be Told) in starring in series for Apple TV+.
