Weeks ahead of its official debut, Marvel Television has dropped a new trailer for its limited series, Ironheart. The six-episode series event premieres June 24 on Disney+. View the latest trailer below.
The latest trailer highlights Dominique Thorne‘s (Judas and the Black Messiah) Riri Williams, a Chicago native whose genius rivals that of Tony Stark. After accepting an internship at MIT, she was recruited by Wakanda’s Shuri herself in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where her skills were utilized in new ways. Now, returning home, she faces new challenges as her mind reconciles what to sow and reap with her gift.
The minute video premieres two new characters played by Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story, Brave New World) and Lyric Ross (This Is Us, Chicago Fire). Ehrenreich looks to be a friend to Riri, while Ross plays an AI assistant to Riri’s hero, similar to Iron Man’s JARVIS. We also see Anthony Ramos’s (In the Heights, In Treatment) Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, who is set to play the main antagonist.
Additional cast members include Regan Aliyah (Club Mickey Mouse, BF for Hire), Matthew Elam (Chicago P.D., The Many Saints of Newark), Manny Montana (Good Girls, The Mule), and Anji White (61st Street, Chicago P.D.).
According to the press release, the series is directed by Angela Barnes (Atlanta, Loot) and Sam Bailey (Alone Together, First Wives Club) with episodes written by Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer, The Midnight Club). Kevin Feige (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: Love & Thunder), Louis D’Esposito (What If…?, Black Widow), Brad Winderbaum (X-Men ’97, Daredevil: Born Again), Zoie Nagelout (Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War), Ryan Coogler (Sinners, Eyes of Wakanda), Sev Ohanian (Searching, Run), Zinzi Coogler (Rampage, Creed III), and Hodge are all executive producers. The series is produced in association with Coogler’s Proximity Media.
After Daredevil: Born Again, Iornheart serves as the second Marvel series to premiere this year. The MCU will gain a brand new character in the standalone series, Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman).
