Release Date For ‘Rick and Morty’ Season Seven Is Revealed

The adult animated sitcom Rick and Morty first debuted in 2013. Since then, the series has had six seasons and is now on its seventh. According to Deadline, season seven will premiere on Adult Swim on Sunday, October 15th at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Additionally, the series will be available to stream in 2024.

The series was created by Dan Harmon (Monster House, Community) and Justin Roiland (Fish Hooks, Gravity Falls). As Deadline notes, Roiland, who was also the voice of various characters on the show, is not a part of the seventh season due to allegations of domestic violence. His replacement has yet to be announced.

Rick and Morty revolves around a scientist named Rick Sanchez who involves his grandson Morty Smith on numerous escapades. Other characters include Summer Smith, voiced by Spencer Grammer (Greek, Roommate Wanted), Jerry Smith, voiced by Chris Parnell (Senior Year, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show), and Beth Smith, voiced by Sarah Chelke (Firefly Lane, How I Met Your Mother).

According to Deadline, the President of Adult Swim Michael Ouweleen spoke out about the return of Rick and Morty. He stated, “It’s happening. Thanks to the talent of the entire show team, we can all enjoy 10 new episodes that yet again raise the bar for comedy and animation. This season proves that the geniuses at work on Rick and Morty are just getting started.”

In addition, the official press release for Rick and Morty teases the seventh season. It reads, “Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. Rick and Morty, 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”

Fans of the animated series Rick and Morty can look forward to seeing their favorite characters on screen again this October.
