According to Deadline, the red carpet premiere of Paramounts+’s Special Ops: Lioness has been canceled due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The series is the first big event to be canceled due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Due to the cancellation of the premiere, Paramount gave a statement.
Paramount+ stated, “In light of today’s news of an official SAG strike, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the red carpet premiere of Special Ops: Lioness, planned for Tuesday, July 18.”
They added, “We recognize this is disappointing news and apologize for any inconvenience it causes. We are very excited to celebrate the series and can’t wait for it to debut to Paramount+ audiences on July 23rd.”

Created by Taylor Sheridan (Mayor of Kingstown) and based on a real-life CIA program, the Paramount+ series follows the character of Joe as she tries to balance her personal and professional life as the head of the CIA’s war on terror. Joe is tasked with many different jobs that even include befriending the daughter of a suspected terrorist who is being monitored by the U.S. She also enlisted the help of Cruz, a Marine Raider, as an undercover operative in the Lioness Program.
