Rebel Road will premiere on the Discovery Channel on Monday, April 28 at 10PM ET/PT.
The series focuses on a subculture of car mechanics in Appalachia that create mind-blowing vehicles that could be from another place and time. The mechanics use old abandoned car bodies and meld them with parts from anything and everything to make a “rat rod.” After World War II, the rat rod movement started when people salvaged prewar cars to make them street ready. The cars are far from flashy.
The first rumble is being held in North Carolina at an undisclosed location and the mechanics have only three weeks to build an ‘Outlaw’ themed rat rod.
There are four teams and only one will walk away with cold hard cash and most important of all – pride. JR Drake, Ricky Bobby, Rooster McGee and Greg Porter will search high and low for cars to build the most outlaw rides possible. Their teams work on little sleep and put everything on the line at the chance at becoming top dog on the legendary Rebel Road.
Magilla Entertainment produces Rebel Road for the Discovery Channel. Executive producers are Matthew Ostrom, Lauren Palumno Johnson and Brian Flanagan. Noah Danoff and Brian Garton are co-executive producers. Discovery’s Christo Doyle will also executive producer with Jim Beard as supervising producer and Max Micallef as coordinating producer.
