Veteran animation producer Ramsey Naito (The Boss Baby, Ben 10) has been appointed President of Nickelodeon Animation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She joined Nickelodeon in 2018 to work with animation production and development. She will now overlook Nickelodeon’s animation content through linear, digital, and TV platforms.
Naito has worked with Nickelodeon on notable projects, including Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, Barnyard, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Hey Arnold!, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut, and Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, among others. Meanwhile, Nickelodeon maintained its reputation as a key animation franchise, creating works such as Star Trek: Prodigy, Big Nate, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, and PAW Patrol.
As ViacomCBS Kids and Family president Brian Robbins (Norbit, A Thousand Words, Meet Dave), said in a statement, “Ramsey has led the transformation of our Animation Studio through the combination of impeccable creative vision and on-point business instincts, and her appointment to President reflects the scope of talent and soul she brings to our organization. In very short order, she has re-energized and rebuilt our animation teams while bringing in a string of new talent, storytellers, artists, production teams, and voice actors to elevate Nick’s overall animation output,” via The Hollywood Reporter.
