Quibi and Comedy Central Announces Reno 911!’ Revival to Feature Full Cast

Lt. Dangle better lock up his bike better with Reno 911! coming back for a seventh season through a Quibi and Comedy Central co-production. According to Deadline, in addition to the series being revived, the original cast is reprising their original roles. The comedy series revolves around a group of inept police officers in a Nevada city which ran for six seasons through a mockumentary style. Despite the extensive fanfare and even the town of Reno, Nevada protesting to bring the show back, the series was canceled by Comedy Central in 2009.

The announcement of the seventh season of Reno 911! includes the return of its co-creators, Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney-Silver in their respective feature roles as Deputy Travis Junior, Lt. Jim Dangle, and Deputy Rudy Wiegel. In addition to these actors reprising their roles, the rest of the original cast will also be joining them with Niecy Nash as Deputy Williams, Cedric Yarbrough as Deputy Sergeant Jones, Carlos Alazraqui as Deputy Sergeant Garcia, Ian Roberts as Sergeant Declan, and Mary Birdsong as Deputy Kimball set to return. Additionally, the seventh season will also feature Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs and Bridesmaids) as a producer and as Deputy Clementine Johnson in addition to Joe Lo Truglio (Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Superbad) as Deputy Frank Rizzo. A revival season was welcomed by many fans of the series original run and the announcement of the original cast and creators’ return has been an exciting sign for episodes to come.

While the series will not return to Comedy Central’s lineup, it will be produced by the network after the new streaming platform, Quibi, acquired its rights to distribute. Quibi is a new streaming service platform that is primed to launch on April 6, 2020. The new streaming service is offering various forms of original programming in addition to the continuation of Reno 911!, such as Spielberg’s After Dark and TV adaptations of the films, The Fugitive, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Varsity Blues. Although there is not a release date attached to the seventh season of this cop-comedy show, Reno 911!’s fans can be excited for the return of their favorite incompetent group of Nevada policemen.
