Production on Season Two of ‘The Morning Show’ Set To Resume

The Morning Show is set to begin filming their second season on October 19th, according to Deadline. The date to restart the production on the Apple TV+ show is tentative due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The award-winning series stars Jennifer Aniston (Friends) and Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde). While Steve Carell (The Office) originally signed a one-year-deal with the show, he is expected to return for season two. Although it is not yet confirmed, producers are in the process of negotiating a new deal with Carell.

Other members of the cast that are returning for season two are Billy Crudup (Where’d You Go, Bernadette) playing Cory Ellison, Néstor Carbonell’s (Bates Motel) role of Yanko Flores, Mark Duplass (The Mindy Project) as Charlie Black, Karen Pittman (The Americans) as Mia Jordan, Bel Powley (The King of Staten Island) playing Claire Conway and Desean Terry (Dumped) as Daniel Henderson.

When production was suspended on March 12th due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Morning Show was filming the first two episodes of the new season. The remaining episodes are expected to incorporate the pandemic into the story.

The series illustrates the high intensity of the world of morning news and explores the lives of those who contribute to helping the country wake up every morning. The story is told in the point of view of two women, Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson, who have to balance their personal and professional lives. Additionally, the series reflects the power dynamics that take place in a high stress work environment.

Crudup won an Emmy in the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category, which was the first Primetime Emmy Award for Apple. The show was nominated for eight Emmyws total and three Golden Globes.

Reese Witherspoon posted on Twitter about how much she misses her coworkers.
