According to Comicbook, Seth Rogen (This is the End) is earning praise after praise on the Amazon Prime Video animated series ,Invincible, as producer alongside series creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), which is due to the series becoming a breakout hit on the streaming platform. With the second season of the series under production, Rogen still found time to be able to play the voice of Donkey Kong in the new upcoming Universal Pictures film The Super Mario Bros. Movie. A live-action adaptation of Invincible is also in development and during an exclusive interview, Comicbook.com was able to ask Rogen’s thoughts on how the animated series has influenced the upcoming movie.
During an exclusive interview with Comicbook’s Brandon Davis, Rogen was asked about how Invincible has had an influence on the film. He said, “It actually has a lot. Invincible was something not a lot of people, in general, had heard of before the animated series. There was a live-action ‘take’ that was different from the animated ‘take,’ as it were. And then the animated show came out that was very faithful to the comic and was incredibly popular.”
Rogen continued, “At that point, it seemed like maybe doing a live-action take that was good but very different would be weird, and maybe not acknowledging the things that people liked about the animated version. Then in our heads, the live-action ‘take’ seemed more like it should feel like a live-action adaptation of the cartoon. Which is a direct adaptation of the comic.”
