During his prolific 40 year career, Daniel Blatt was an attorney and former film executive most famous for putting his mark on television’s Raid on Entebbe (1976) and V: The Final Battle (1984) He died October 9 at Cedars-Sanai Medical Center in Los Angeles of pancreatic caner.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blatt was nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding special drama or comedy for producing NBC’s Raid on Entebbe, an account of the Israeli raid to rescue Jewish hostages held at the Entebbe airport after a hijacking. The telefilm won a Golden Globe. Many of the films and television series Blatt produced were based on fact.
Blatt is survived by his wife, daughters Jessica and Chelsea, grandson Benjamin, sister Ruth, and brother Philip.
