According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Terminal List franchise at Prime Video will be heading in a new direction with a whole new series, Savage Son. The new dramatic series will center around James Reece, Chris Pratt‘s (Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy) Terminal List character. The show will be based on Jack Carr’s (Send Me, Worth) novel of the same title, the third book in a series.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the series order comes just two weeks after the second season of The Terminal List premiered on Prime Video. Despite a four-year hiatus between seasons, the show returned to strong viewership, generating 830 million minutes of watch time.
“Jack Carr’s work has connected with audiences in a way that speaks to the power of his storytelling and the incredible dedication Chris Pratt and the entire team bring to every episode,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios via The Hollywood Reporter. “The Terminal List franchise continues to resonate, and Savage Son takes the story into its most intense chapter yet.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streamer hasn’t decided yet to renew The Terminal List for another season. The series also starred Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, Fresh Off the Boat), Tom Hopper (Love in the Villa, Game Of Thrones) and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights, American Primeval). There have yet to be any new cast members from the original series who would join Pratt in the new series. No writer or showrunner is attached to the new show yet.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Savage Son follows Dark Wolf, the 2023 prequel series in the Terminal List franchise. The new installment will see Pratt’s character take on what is described as “his most personal and dangerous mission yet.” The Logline for the series reads as follows: “Savage Son is a gripping blend of military action, espionage, and wilderness survival, exploring the thin line between civilization and the savage instincts that emerge when survival becomes personal.”
The Terminal List is available to stream on Prime Video.
