Prime Video Reveals New Official Trailer For ‘Like A Dragon: Yakuza’

Prime Video has released new official trailer for its adaptation of Like a Dragon: Yakuza, along with new key art. The streamer also announced more information on the series, including 11 new cast members. The series is based on the iconic SEGA video game franchise Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It will premiere its first three episodes on Thursday, October 24, in more than 240 countries and territories.

Below is the new key art for the series.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza is an action drama that follows the dark underworld of the yakuza. The series is set in two different timelines as it shifts from 1995 to 2005. In 1995, it tells the story of how Kiryu and his friends, Nishiki, Yumi and Miho, planned a heist and ended up diving into the yakuza-controlled underworld. In 2005, the series shows Kiryu being released from prison. He then finds out from Detective Date that his friends are in danger, so he sets out to protect them. Although his intentions were good, their friendship had deteriorated by the time he reached his friends as tensions between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance were at an all-time high.

New cast members joining the cast of the series include:

Yumi Kawai (A Man, Plan 75) as Yumi Sawamura, a childhood friend who grew up alongside Kiryu and Nishiki.

Toshiaki Karasawa (Fixer, 24 Japan) as Shintaro Kazama, the former lieutenant of the Dojima Family who now runs the orphanage where Kiryu and his friends were raised.

Koichi Sato (Crest of Betrayal, The Gate of Youth) as Masaru Sera, the chairman of the Tojo Clan.

Misato Morita (City Hunter, Missing) as Aiko, Yumi’s long-lost sister.

Subaru Shibutani (Misono Universe, 8uppers) as Detective Date, the man who sends Kiryu back to Kamurocho to stop the impending yakuza war.

Saki Takaoka (Kyoko, Lawyer Sodom) as Reina, the owner of Club Serena where Yumi worked in 1995.

Ryudo Uzaki (Station, Zen) as Goda, the chairman of the Omi Alliance.

Shohei Uno (Ultraman Ginga, Black Jack) as a key member of the Omi Alliance.

Masaya Kato (Drive, Godzilla) as Dojima, the head of the Dojima Family in 1995.
