The Bosch universe has expanded once more. Today, Prime Video released the full trailer for its new crime drama, Ballard. Based on characters created by Michael Connelly (The Lincoln Lawyer, Bosch: Legacy), Ballard stars Maggie Q as LAPD Homicide Detective Renee Ballard, who was introduced in the final season of Bosch: Legacy. View the full trailer below.
In this series, Ballard has been assigned to lead the LAPD’s underfunded and understaffed cold case division. While tackling some of the city’s long-forgotten crimes, Ballard and her team uncover a rash of killings that seem to belong to a singular serial killer. Her search for justice leads to a brick wall as corruption within may be her biggest obstacle, placing a target on her back.
Joining Q in the series are Courtney Taylor (Abbott Elementary, Insecure), John Carroll Lynch (Elsbeth, Evil)), Michael Molsey, Rebecca Field (The Residence, A Star is Born), Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf, The Middle), Amy Hill (Lilo & Stitch, Big City Greens), Ricardo Chavira (Scandal, Desperate Housewives), Noah Bean (Nikita, 12 Monkeys), Alian Uy (The Cleaning Lady, Blue Eye Samurai), and Hector Hugo (The Iceman, Snowfall). Titus Welliver (Ricky, Lost) will also appear as Harry Bosch. Welliver portrayed the character in the Amazon original series, Bosch, for seven seasons. In 2022, Bosch: Legacy launched with Bosch fighting crime as a private investigator. It wrapped its third and final season this year.
Executive produced by Connelly, additional EPs include Kendall Sherwood, Henrick Bastin (Bosch: Legacy, Interrogation), Trish Hofmann (The Dark Tower, Gringo), Jet Wilkinson, Melissa Aouate, and Michael Alaimo. Fabel Entertainment’s Jasmine Russ (Bosch, Season) is joined by Jamie Boscardin Martin (Old Dads, Circle of Eight), and Trey Batchelor (Longmire, Safe House) as co-executive producers. Theresa Snider (The Safe Man, Bosch: Legacy) will serve as a co-executive producer via Hieronymus Pictures.
Ballard will premiere on Wednesday, July 9, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
