Prime Video has unveiled Hazbin Hotel: Live on Broadway, a one-of-a-kind concert event celebrating the popular adult animated musical series. The live performance will take place on October 20th at New York’s iconic Majestic Theatre, hosted by series star Erika Henningsen (Mean Girls, Les Misérables).
As announced by the streamer, the concert will showcase musical numbers from Seasons One and Two, performed by the show’s acclaimed ensemble. The event will feature Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Keith David (The Princess and the Frog, Community), Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Jeremy Jordan (Smash, Newsies), Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice, School of Rock), and Darren Criss (Glee, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), among others. Produced by RadicalMedia (Hamilton, Merrily We Roll Along), the live show will later be made available to stream exclusively on Prime Video. Fans can request tickets through 1iota for a chance to attend, with cosplay strongly encouraged.
The concert coincides with the highly anticipated debut of Hazbin Hotel Season Two, premiering October 29th on Prime Video. The upcoming season produced by A24 (Everything Everywhere All at Once, Euphoria) and FOX Entertainment Studios’ Bento Box Entertainment (Bob’s Burgers, Central Park) consists of eight episodes, with two installments premiering weekly through November 19th.
In partnership with Atlantic Records, the streamer also announced that the Hazbin Hotel: Season Two (Original Soundtrack) is now available for pre-order. The album features new songs from composers Sam Haft (Addict, Helluva Boss) and Andrew Underberg (Central Park, Helpsters), performed by the show’s star-studded cast. The first single, “Hazbin Guarantee (Trust Us),” is out now on all major digital platforms, accompanied by collectible vinyl, CD, and cassette editions.
Vivienne Medrano (Helluva Boss, Zoophobia) created Hazbin Hotel, which follows Charlie, the Princess of Hell, as she works to reform demons and minimize overcrowding in her infernal domain. Following her victory over Heaven’s army, the hotel flourishes, but not all of its guests share her goodwill. As resentment of Heaven grows, the strong overlord trio known as The Vees attempts to ascend to power, requiring Charlie to protect both her beliefs and her public image.
Behind the scenes, Medrano serves as executive producer and director alongside Dana Tafoya-Cameron (Paradise PD, Bless the Harts) and Brett Coker (American Dad!, Family Guy). The Broadway concert is directed by Joe DeMaio (VH1 Divas Live, MTV Unplugged) and produced by RadicalMedia’s Dave Sirulnick (MTV Video Music Awards, The Concert for New York City), Karla Zambrano (Tony Awards: Act One, MTV Movie & TV Awards), and Jon Kamen (Concert for George, Hamilton). They are joined by Adrian Salpeter (The Last Five Years, Hello Again), Samantha Mustari (Annie Live!, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert), and Meredith Bennett (The Colbert Report, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert).
According to Prime Video, the performance and Season Two premiere underscore the platform’s dedication to extending its range of unique musical storytelling and animation. Since its viral pilot release on YouTube in 2019, Hazbin Hotel has amassed a global fan base and topped 117 million views, cementing its position as one of the most distinctive adult animated programs available today.
