Prime Video has renewed Neagley for a second season just weeks after the Reacher spinoff premiered, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

All eight episodes of the action series became available on Sept. 16, and the series drew 40 million viewers worldwide in its first 13 days. Additionally, Neagley placed fourth among Prime Video’s original series debuts.

With characters drawn from Lee Child’s novels, the series centers on private investigator Frances Neagley. She served in the Army’s 110th Special Investigation Unit and was mentored by the titular character of Reacher, Jack Reacher. Throughout the first season, Neagley becomes determined to find justice after the suspicious death of her dear friend.

The action series stars Maria Sten (Wild Things Run Free, Channel Zero) as Neagley. Alongside Sten, the cast includes Greyston Holt (Bitten, A Very Country Christmas), Adeline Rudolph (Mortal Kombat II, Do Not Enter), Jasper Jones (Bleedings, King Ivory), Matthew Del Negro (Crime 101, Free Bert), Damon Herriman (Mortal Kombat II, Macho Man), and Alan Ritchson (Runner, War Machine) guest-starring as Reacher.

Global Television and Amazon MGM Studios Head Peter Friedlander commented on the series’ success. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Friedlander stated, “Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own.  Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and [co-showrunners] Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling.”

The Parents series Reacher concluded its fourth season on Sept. 16. The series’ fifth season is currently in production, with a sixth season renewal already confirmed by Prime Video, according to mxdwn.

Nick Santora (FUBAR, Most Dangerous Game) and Nicholas Wootton (Stumptown, Scorpion) serve as the showrunners for Neagley.

Watch the first season of Neagley exclusively on Prime Video. Prime Video has not yet announced a Premiere date for Neagley season two.
