Prime Video has released an official trailer for its Legally Blonde prequel series called Elle. This summer, get a glimpse into Elle Woods’ journey through high school.
In the trailer, we see that the series will take place in Bel-air in 1995 where Elle Woods is seen celebrating her sixteenth birthday and her receiving the news from her parents that they are moving to Seattle. We see Elle try to adjust herself in high school trying to make friends while also trying to find her place in Seattle and not be labeled as the typical LA vapid girl.
For those who don’t know, Elle is a prequel series that focuses on Elle Woods and how she navigates through high school and ends up becoming the confident character in the Legally Blonde movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, here is the official logline for the first season of the series, “We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.”
The cast consists of Lexi Minetree (All Alone Together, My Amish Double Life), Jessica Belkin (The Hunting Wives, Dutton Ranch), Danielle Chand (Elle, Pride), Sophie Thom (Family Law, My Mother, the Zombie), Brad Harder (Jingle Bell Run, A Stranger’s Child), Anna Katharina (Elle, The Hunting Party), Taryn Edgar (Elle, Upside-Down Magic), Connor Wong (Creepshow, Monster High 2), Kyra Wong (Elle, Thank You), Alison Thornton (What Comes Next, Fire Country), Jordana Summer (Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, Red Lights), Andrea Abreu (Virgin River, Tracker), Courtney Richter (When Calls the Heart, Color Me Jane), and Bobby Stewart (Tidings for the Season, Providence Falls).
The series is created by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure) and produced by Caroline Dries (Gotham Knights, Batwoman), Reese Witherspoon (The Last Thing He Told Me, The Rise), Lauren Neustadter (The Morning Show, Family Recipe Showdown), Amanda Brown (M.I.A., Be My Valentine), Marc Platt (Basic, Wicked: For Good), and Brad Van Arragon (Yellowjackets, Allegiance). The series is set to premiere on July 1, 2026 on Prime Video.
