Prime Video Promises “No Midseason Break” In Season Three Tease Of ‘Invincible’

Prime Video’s critically acclaimed Invincible announced its long-awaited return in a new teaser. Mark Grayson returns to battle the Viltrumite Empire on February 6, 2025, free of that pesky mid-season break from season two. View the meta teaser trailer below.

In the nearly three-minute clip, Mark (Minari and The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun) aka Invincible’s lunch is rudely interrupted by Walton Goggins’ (Fallout, Justified) Cecil. The Nick Fury of this universe grills Mark on his months-long absence, subtly referencing the show’s hiatus, and questions what the nineteen-year-old hero has been doing in his spare time to prepare for the coming doom that is the Viltrumites. Mark jokingly admits he’s been voice acting, storyboarding, and animating in preparation for season three. Cecil barks back he needs to be bustling through a series of calisthenics to improve his cardio, strength, and damage-intake for the ensuing threat. The world’s population is counting on him.

According to the press release, Invincible is based on the comic book series by Walking Dead scribe, Robert Kirkman, and “follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson, as he inherits his father’s superpowers and sets out to become Earth’s greatest defender, only to discover the job is more challenging than he could have ever imagined. Everything changes as Mark is forced to face his past, and his future, while discovering how much further he’ll need to go to protect the people he loves.” The first two seasons are “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with the second season earning RT’s award for Best Animated Series.

Yeun and Goggins return with an A-list cast including Sandra Oh (The Chair, Grey’s Anatomy) and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash) as Mark’s parents, Debbie and Nolan Grayson. Additional voice work includes executive producer Seth Rogen (Freaks and Geeks, Sausage Party) Gillian Jacobs (Community, Fear Street Part One: 1994), Jason Mantzoukas (The Dictator, Big Mouth), Zazie Beetz (Joker, Atlanta), Grey DeLisle (The Grim Adventures Of Billy & Mandy, Danny Phantom), Zachary Quinto (Brilliant Minds, Heroes), and Chris Diamantopoulos (The Three Stooges, Red Notice).

They are joined by X-Men ’97’s Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead), Khary Payton (The Walking Dead, Teen Titans), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday, Girls), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show, Gravity Falls), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Renfield), Clancy Brown (Gen V, The Penguin), Jay Pharoah (White Famous, Good Times), Mark Hamill (Batman: The Animated Series, Regular Show), and Melise Jow (The Vampire Diaries, Star-Crossed).

Executive producers include Kirkman, David Alpert (Air, Spare Parts), Catherine Winder (The Angry Birds Movie 2, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Racioppa (Crossology, Spliced), Margaret M. Dean (Monster High: Haunted, Chase Me), and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, Preacher). The co-executive producers are Helen Leigh (Severance, Outcast) and comic book artist Cory Walker (Mortal Kombat 1, Invincible: Atom Eve).

Invincible’s three-episode premiere drops on Thursday, February 6, 2025, with new episodes premiering weekly through March 16.
