Based on a press release from Prime Video, they confirmed at the LVL UP Expo, a three-day event in Las Vegas that celebrates video games, anime, comics, and various aspects of fandom culture, that they have acquired the nefarious and insanely popular web series Helluva Boss. In a wacky and explicit-filled special animation, they confirmed for the first time that Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss do exist in the same Hellaverse universe.

In an effort to draw fans into new Prime Video subscriptions, the new seasons will first premiere exclusively on their platform and over 240 countries and territories worldwide. They will become available on YouTube as per the norm after 30 days.
The press release goes on to quote the show’s producer and creator, Vivienne Medero (Bad Luck Jack, Holidaze), as saying, “I am so grateful to Prime Video for their continued support of our work on Hazbin Hotel and for allowing our team at Spindlehorse to expand The Hellaverse by embracing Helluva Boss.” She continues on to say, “I’m SO excited for what this means for the continued rise of Indie animation! It’s a dream come true to be able to tell these stories, and I truly can’t wait for you to see what we have planned!” The animated special also states that Medero herself will solely maintain creative control over both shows.
The show is a dark comedy set in the depths of Hades, where a group of demons form a company that specializes in the assassination of the living. While carrying out these hits for their fellow colleagues down below, their antics are often accompanied by catchy musical numbers that are as gruesome and comedic as their actions. Oddly enough, the characters are still lovable in their own twisted ways.
With no window or specific premiere date set for seasons two and three, fans will have some time for the big news to set in. The special animation claims that “animation takes a long time.” With the post on X for the official announcement already racking up over 7.5 million views in one day, it’s safe to say that fans will be waiting with bells on.
