Prime Video Announces Release Date For Second Season Of Horror Anthology ‘THEM’

According to TVLine, Prime Video has recently announced the release date for the second season of the horror anthology THEM. The second season will be titled THEM: The Scare and will air on the streamer on Thursday, April 25th. It will premiere with all eight episodes. This is more than three years after the premiere of the first season. The setting for the series will still be in Los Angeles but this time 40 years later. It follows LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve, played by Deborah Ayorine (Luke Cage), as she investigates murders. 

According to TVLine, the synopsis for the series reads as follows: “Navigating a tumultuous time in Los Angeles, with a city on the razor’s edge of chaos, Dawn is determined to stop the killer. But as she draws closer to the truth, something ominous and malevolent grips her and her family….”

The cast for the second season includes Joshua J. Williams (Cloak & Dagger) as Kel, Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) as Athena, Luke James (The Chi) as Edmund Gaines, Jeremy Bobb (The Knick) as Detective Ronald McKinney, Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park) as Lt. Schiff, Carlito Olivero (Step Up: High Water) as Joaquin Diaz, Charles Brice (In from the Cold) as Reggie Marks, Iman Shumpert (Under His Influence) as Corey. 

According to TVLine, series creator and showrunner Little Marvin (The Time Is Now) said, “With THEM: The Scare, we wanted to combine our love of horror with a look at Los Angeles’s rich history and evolution. This second installment is a new story set in the ’90s, one of the most iconic decades for film, music, and fashion, particularly in Los Angeles.”

Marvin continued, “I’m also excited about our amazing cast. Deborah Ayorinde returns as a completely new character, Luke James delivers an unforgettable performance, and the legendary Pam Grier, who has played so many iconic and beloved roles on screen, makes her return to horror…. We couldn’t have asked for a more fearless group to lead this second installment.”

The first season of THEM is available to stream on Prime Video.
