We all know that even President Barack Obama is not immune to “mean tweets”. If anything, he’s had more than his fair share of them.
The president returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night to tape the second presidential edition of the show’s signature “Mean Tweets” segment, in which celebrities read often harsh tweets about themselves.
The tweets about the president actually weren’t as bad as ones other celebrities had to face. The tweets included “Barack Obama is the Nickelback of presidents,” “Barack Obama dances like how his jeans look,” “Barack Obama is the ‘Sharknado’ of presidents. Loud, stupid, and over-hyped! #Sharknado4,” and “Obama couldn’t negotiate getting a Whopper without pickles.”
The rest just gets better. The last tweet he read was, “President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States,” Obama read. What’s the catch? The tweet was courtesy of Donald Trump. “Well, @realdonaldtrump, at least I’ll go down as a president,” Obama replied. Mic drop. Well, iPhone drop.
During Kimmel, Obama didn’t shy away from making fun of Trump. When asked by Kimmel if he ever laughs while watching Trump in the debates, Obama responded, “Most of the time.”
Viewership reached highs for Obama’s third time on the show, earning Kimmel a 2.7/7 household rating compared to a 2.1/6 for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. This is Kimmel’s best rating since Obama’s last visit on March 12, 2015, Variety reports.
