Prepare For War With The ‘House Of The Dragon’ Season Three Teaser

HBO has dropped an official teaser for the anticipated third season of House of the DragonThe war between the Greens and the Blacks is underway. Who will reign victorious and who will claim the Iron Throne?

For those who don’t know, the series tells a story that is 172 years before the events of Game of Thrones. We set our eyes upon the Targaryen dynasty, where King Viserys had named his daughter Rhaenyra to be next in line for the throne. However, in true Game of Thrones fashion, there are schemers who intend to have their own goals come into fruition. In the previous seasons, Ser Otto Hightower orchestrated a usurpation of Rhaenyra’s title in favor of the King’s son Aegon. In doing so, a civil war has broken out between the Targaryens.

The teaser shows a substantial amount of tension on both sides. Rhaenyra was given a promise from her former friend, Alicent Hightower, that the gates of the Red Keep would be lowered and Rhaenyra would be Queen. However, her son Jaehaerys Targaryen issues this warning to her mother, “You cannot trust her.” Unbeknownst to both armies is that King Aegon has abdicated from the throne, but that doesn’t mean the war will end, for the Prince Regent Aemond Targaryen intends to fight and win this war and will not allow Rhaenyra to take it away from him. The teaser holds nothing back when it comes to the action that we will witness and the possible casualties that both sides will suffer.

The cast consists of Matt Smith (The Death of Bunny Munro, Caught Stealing), Fabian Frankel (Task, The Actor), Steve Toussaint (Eyes of Wakanda, Prawn Bhuna), Emma D’Arcy (Rhoda, The Talent), Olivia Cooke (The Girlfriend, The Good Mother), Sonoya Mizuno (Star Wars: Vision, Eternal Return), Kurt Egyiawan (Andor, The Agency: Central Intelligence), Rhys Ifans (Inheritance, Venom: The Last Dance), Matthew Needham (The Generators, Napoleon), Jefferson Hall (Three, Oppenheimer), Ewan Mitchell (Wuthering Heights, Saltburn), Paul Kennedy (Miss Scarlet, Ancient Empires), Harry Collett (Closing In, Why Wouldn’t I Be?), Bethany Antonia (The War Master, Call Me Master), and Phia Saban (House of the Dragon, The Last Kingdom).

The third season is set to premiere in June of 2026. In the meantime, the first two seasons are available to stream on HBO Max.
