According to Comicbook, the first season of Marvel’s Loki ended back in July 2021 with cliffhanger that teased an upcoming season. This would make it the first and only Marvel series to get a second season from Disney+ at the moment. The second season is expected to premiere this year with Tom Hiddleston (What If…?) returning as the God of mischief. Returning with Hiddleston for the season are Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle), Sophia Di Martino (Flowers), and Wunmi Mosaku (His House), as well as newcomers such as Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies).
Wilson recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight and teased a possible window for the premier of the second season. When asked about the Loki post-credit scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Wilson said,”, “I guess they have kind of a little shot of Tom Hiddleston and I and Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) from Loki season two, and I think that’s coming out end of the summer or September.”
Wilson added, “I know. It’s so exciting. That was incredible…Every time I saw him winning something, it was another speech that just kind of was a tear-jerker that was so moving. And even when we were working on this last summer — I think his character that he plays in Loki season two I think people will be excited, even though that was so great, obviously, the character that he won an Oscar, for I think people are going to love his character in this.”
The Marvel series Loki takes place after the God of mischief steals the Tesseract during the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. An alternate version of Loki that was not meant to have the Tesseract was brought before the Time Variance Authority to be trialed for his crimes against the sacred timeline.
Fans can hopefully expect season two of Loki to premiere in late summer or early fall. Season one of Loki is currently available to stream on Disney+.
